Account
You may delete your ScreenCache account at any time from within the app. This page explains what happens to your data when you do.

What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our systems.
Account & Profile
Email, display name, preferences, and authentication credentials are purged from Cognito and DynamoDB.
Avatars
All Avatars owned by the Account are deleted. @handles are released back to the public pool.
Image Library
All uploaded images (originals, display variants, thumbnails) are removed from S3 storage and CDN cache.
Posts & Publications
All Posts published by your Avatars are removed. Content is no longer visible to anyone.
Social Graph
Connections, Avatar followers/following, and all social relationships are severed.
Messages
All messages sent by you are soft-deleted (replaced with a placeholder for recipients).
Data Retained After Deletion
Certain records persist after account deletion due to legal requirements, safety obligations, or technical constraints.
Moderation Audit Logs
Records of content moderation decisions (labels, confidence scores) are retained for legal and safety purposes.
Quarantined Content
Content that was rejected during moderation is retained in quarantine for legal/appeals purposes.
Subscription Records
Payment history and subscription status retained for billing reconciliation and tax compliance.
NCMEC / Law Enforcement Reports
If your account was involved in a CSAM report or law enforcement request, those records are retained as legally required.
CDN Cache
Previously cached image variants on CloudFront may persist until cache expiration. No new requests will be served.
Local Device Data
Account deletion removes your data from our servers. To clear data stored locally on your Android device:

Log out before or after deleting your account. This clears auth tokens from EncryptedSharedPreferences.

Clear App Data in Android Settings > Apps > ScreenCache > Storage to remove the local Room database, DataStore preferences, and cached images.
- 03
Uninstall the app to remove all local data completely.
How to Delete Your Account
In the app: Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. You will be prompted to confirm your identity before deletion is processed.
Can't access the app? Email privacy@screencache.com from the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days.
